You can feel the Holy Spirit



Pentecost and the Gift of the Holy Spirit


The Holy Spirit is a unique gift to the Church from Jesus.  When we say, “Church”, we are not speaking of an institution.  We are referring to the “body of Christ”.  This body is the “Church”.  It is a living organism comprised of all the lives and therefore, of all the souls, who have given allegiance to Christ as the Savor, the Messiah, the Lord.

This Holy Spirit, “comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth,” (John 15:26)

Jesus is no longer with us, physically.  It is because his physical presence is limited by time and space.  In His place, Jesus gives the Holy Spirit, which spirit is not limited by time and space and therefore, can  permeate us and co-mingle with us in the body. 

Some years ago, a very outstanding Christian parishioner said to me that when she prayed she often had an electric sensation as though she was plugged into an mild electric circuit.  This sensation she discounted as the “chills”.  I told her that she was very fortunate because in her prayers she was experiencing the palpable kinetic manifestation of the Holy Spirit.  She breathed a sigh of relief, and told me that she was very happy to know that a person can get such a wonderful gift. She said that it always left her strengthened and encouraged, and that she thought it might be the Holy Spirit but hesitated to think that an ordinary person could have such a wonderful experience.  I said, “Jesus willingly gives himself to so called ordinary persons
